So great to design this ring for such an awesome woman! She loves birds. I chose to loosely depict two doves on either side of the setting which is carved to look like a nest. Hand carved, continuum alloy, 18kt yellow gold prongs. The stone is an incredible pink tourmaline cut by master gem cutter Keith Thomas, of Nova Scotia. He is a third generation gem cutter and has told me many stories about his travels to mines in Africa where he collected rough and cut near the mines. One of the really special aspect of this stone is how Keith worked with the inclusions in the stone as a visual enhancement rather than a flaw - it really is a stunning stone. As stunning as the woman who now wears it :-).
